ABOUT THE HURRICANES

Coach Andy Webb and East Ham, which achieved its highest ranking ever last season, reaching No. 2 in the TSSAA Class AAA rankings, lost four seniors to the college ranks but has some great talent returning this season. Senior forward Cade Pendleton (6-10) averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds as a junior and is expected to carry much of the load this season. He is being recruited by North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland, Iowa, BYU, and a host of other schools. Directing the action on the floor is 6-foot point guard Deleon Petty, who averaged 19 points a game to go along with six rebounds.
