ABOUT THE SANDIES

Coach Jason Pillion led the Sandies to the Texas 5A State Semifinals last season behind a trio of talented juniors. Amarillo is led by 6-4 all-state guard Brendan Hausen, who has already signed with Villanova. He averaged 17 points, four rebounds, and 3.5 assists a game last year. Damonze Woods, a 6-6 wing, averaged 11 points and seven boards a game on the way to earning all-state honors as a junior. Cade Hornecker has the honor of being the tallest player in the Arby’s Classic this year, at an even 7 feet. The Southern Illinois signee averaged nine points and six rebounds a game last season.
